Magalie Lefebvre
COMIR COORDINATOR
After graduating from Laval University and Uqam in social and cultural anthropology, feminist studies, and sociology (Multidisciplinary Studies), Magalie decided to bring her intellectual questionings up to the master’s degree at Ottawa University. Her main interests are: mixed-race and racialized identities, ecofeminist philosophy, social movements. She is concerned with women’s differential expectations and demands in areas like extreme sports and outdoors. Through her feminist, intersectional and antiracist values, she fights gender discrimination against minorities. She is also Equity Commissioner at GSAED (Graduate Student Association of the University of Ottawa). In addition to being on several decolonial and anti-racist committees at the university, she facilitates part-time healing sessions for racialized students.
