COMIR

More about COMIR

The Research Collective on Migration and Racism is a multidisciplinary, bilingual group of researchers who aim to bring together two fields of research: migration and racism, as well as the Anglophone and Francophone traditions underlying them. The objective is to create a space for researchers, students, social workers and activists in order to produce analyses, disseminate knowledge and inform migration policies and the fight against racial discrimination. More specifically, the activities of the COMIR pursue the following four objectives:

  • Create a meeting space and encourage intellectual exchanges between researchers, students, advocates and activists with an interest in issues related to migration and/or racism;

  •  Support student research training in the areas of international migration and racism;

  •   Contribute to the dissemination of knowledge on issues related to migration and racism, with the aim of informing policies and practices, and raising awareness about the lived realities of migrants and racialized people;

  •  Encourage initiatives with associations, activist or artistic, that support migrants and/or fight against racism and racial discriminations.
